Very Interesting!!!!

The first vote was held around 6:00 PM. Republican Senator Charles Grassley’s bill to increase funding to the FBI’s NICS background check system so that the system had more accurate criminal and mental health data was blocked by Senate Democrats. It had 53 votes for it and 47 votes against it, falling short of the 60 vote majority needed because liberal Senators voted against it.

Shortly afterward, liberty-hating Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy’s attempt to force so-called “universal” background checks down the throats of American citizens was defeated on a 44-56 vote.

Democrats then conspire to shoot down a bill by Texas Senator John Cornyn that would have denied gun sales to people n terror watch lists after a three-day delay if prosecutors could make a case to a judge that the person was an actual threat. Democrats voted against this bill and kept it from passing the 60-vote threshold because it required the government to prove the person being denied their rights actually was a terror threat. The bill fell short  53-47.

Democrats then tried and failed to push their own watch list bill, which would deny the right of any American citizen to buy a gun for arbitrarily being placed on any government list, even without ties to terror groups or evidence that they’d done anything wrong. This direct assault on your constitutional right to due process was defeated 47-53.

Captain Higgins: We Are a Nation at War

The outspoken Sheriff’s Captain resigned from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Department at the end of February after Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz told him to “‘tone down’ his unprofessional comments on our weekly Crime Stoppers messages”

Sheriff Guidroz said, “He disagreed with my orders.”

Announcing his resignation on the steps of the St. Landry Parish Courthouse, Higgins said, “I will not kneel to violent street gangs. I will not kneel to murderers or the parents that raised them. I will not kneel to a discredited, wanna-be, black activist that doesn’t really have the best interest of his people in mind, who just wants to make a profit. I will not kneel to bureaucrats in Baton Rouge, Washington or anywhere else who have forgotten why they wear a badge and who have forgotten who they serve.”

Thankfully, following his resignation, Captain Higgins has found a higher calling.

Congress.

I agree - terrorists watch list!

The NRA's position on this issue has not changed. The NRA believes that terrorists should not be allowed to purchase or possess firearms, period. Anyone on a terror watchlist who tries to buy a gun should be thoroughly investigated by the FBI and the sale delayed while the investigation is ongoing. If an investigation uncovers evidence of terrorist activity or involvement, the government should be allowed to immediately go to court, block the sale, and arrest the terrorist. At the same time, due process protections should be put in place that allow law-abiding Americans who are wrongly put on a watchlist to be removed. That has been the position of Sen. John Cornyn (R.-Tex.) and a majority of the U.S. Senate. Sadly, President Obama and his allies would prefer to play politics with this issue.

Washington Post - NO-FLY LIST - IS THERE DUE PROCESS?

There are a lot of other concerns about how the list is developed, as well. A lawsuit initiated by the ACLU resulted in the government acquiescing to telling people when they are on the list itself. But, as the organization notes, this still fails to offer those included "meaningful notice, evidence and a hearing." Particularly when applied to the ability to own a firearm, many would argue that the no-fly list is a violation of the 5th Amendment, which guarantees the right to due process before people are deprived of life, liberty or property. During the ACLU's lawsuit, the government admitted that people are added to the list speculatively, before they've actually done anything wrong. What's more, the Guardian reported in 2014 that the list might be used by law enforcement as a pressure point against possible informants.

The list is itself almost necessarily a slippery slope. "There's very little incentive for any particular government official to narrow the list," Sparapani said. "It's much easier to put more and more names on it." The overlap of politics and terror fears makes officials err on the side of caution. "If the list really does need to be in the hundreds of thousands" -- as it appears to be -- "we've got much bigger problems than if people should be able to get on airplanes," he said.

And then, of course, there's the other question.

"Who are these people who are so dangerous that we can't let them on planes, but we haven't gone out and arrested them?" Sparapani asked. "At what point do we actually take action against them if they're under what we think of as passive surveillance? ... If they're too dangerous to be put on a plane but not too dangerous for us to arrest them, what exactly is this list about?"

Asked another way: Who is too dangerous to be on a plane but not dangerous enough to walk around in public -- and should that person be denied the right to own a firearm because they land somewhere in that gray space? President Obama's goal was not really to keep the guns out of the hands of possible terrorists, in part because the overlap of the no-fly list and possible terrorists looks more like a Venn diagram than a circle. It was, instead, part of his effort to limit the availability of guns in general, using the no-fly list as a tool.

The War Goes On

From WaPo, "The problem with banning guns for people on the no-fly list"

"Particularly when applied to the ability to own a firearm, many would argue that the no-fly list is a violation of the 5th Amendment, which guarantees the right to due process before people are deprived of life, liberty or property. During the ACLU's lawsuit, the government admitted that people are added to the list speculatively, before they've actually done anything wrong."

I got nothing for you here. My personal decision on the election is to follow the National Rifle Association's lead. I do not necessarily have an objection to the existence of such a list per se — just as I have no objection to the FBI surveilling mosques with radical Imans — my criticism is the absence of due process for the people on the list. As Bump notes in this article, the purpose of the no fly/no buy list was never keeping terrorists off airplanes or away from guns. It exists to chip away at people owning guns.

Judge Jeanine Rips Obama Over Comparing ISIS to Christianity at Prayer Breakfast

We need to be VERY WORRIED

Former FBI assistant director James Kallstrom recently went on Fox News to discuss the aftermath of the deadly Islamic terrorist attacks in Paris and how it relates to Obama’s dangerous plan to import thousands of Syrian refugees.

As Kallstrom explained to Megyn Kelly, he’s furious about what’s going on with the refugees that are moving throughout Europe, and he thinks it has largely been “orchestrated!” WOW!

"You know the fact that these folks travel from Europe and here in the United States and get training and then they come back to the countries, to me is just crazy and preposterous. And I don’t know how we are continuing to do this thing."

"When you look at pictures of them — 90 percent males between the age of 18 and 30 — it’s crazy. It’s phony. And we must end the sanctuary cities in the United States. What a farce. What a joke."

In Kallstrom’s view, this means a future attack on American soil is all-but-certain.

This is a courageous move for this former FBI assistant director to share with America. We must listen to him, before it’s too late…

"We have to wake up. The war is here."

We are at war.

Michael Bane has stated it correctly!

They are here, and they want to kill us, and they are willing to kill us. He was a soldier in a war of extermination…against us. It doesn't matter whether he was ordered to kill or inspired to kill by ISIS ideology. The results, blood, are the same.

As terrorism expert and author of DEFEATING JIHAD Sebastian Gorka said today, "We have to wake up. The war is here."

There is only one first responder you can GUARANTEE will be on the scene, and that first responder is YOU.
