The Armed Citizen Alliance, Inc. today announced the inaugural National Armed Citizen Challenge (NAC2), which will be held September 21-23, 2012, at PASA Park near Barry, Illinois.
The annual NAC2 is a "Sports Fair for the Armed Citizen," and is open to the public. It is the first such national event of its kind.
There will be vendor displays, demos, and hands-on firearms product tryout opportunities offered by ACA sponsors, partners, and supporting manufacturers.
Considering the NAC^2 will be held in Illinois, how is a citizen supposed to attend and take their self-defense firearm with them to the challenge?
ReplyDeleteOne would assume that you would follow the states gun law for traveling with a firearm.
DeleteHere is what I got from the Illinois state police site:
HOW CAN I LEGALLY TRANSPORT A FIREARM
ON MY PERSON OR IN MY SPORTS UTILITY
VEHICLE (SUV), PICKUP TRUCK, VAN, STATION
WAGON, OR EVEN A MOTORCYCLE?
Three statutory codes regulate the possession, transfer,
and transportation of fi rearms - the Criminal Code, the
Wildlife Code, and the Firearm Owner’s Identifi cation Act.
In order to comply with those statutes when transporting
a fi rearm, it must be:
1. Unloaded, and
2. Enclosed in a case, and
3. By persons who have a valid FOID card.
4. Non-Residents must be eligible to possess
or acquire fi rearms and ammunition in their
state of residence.
