Today is USA Shooting's 10.9 Day. What's that, you ask. For Olympic shooters, 10.9 is their highest possible score -so they've adopted October 9 (10/9- get it?) to encourage all of us to "aim for excellence in all the shots you take in life." It's a great idea - and this year, they're observing the day by running Periscope "scopes" with USA Shooting Team members. They'll be broadcasting live and talking about everything from shooting sports to training and tips- and they'll take your questions on different topics every 10 minutes starting at 10A.M. Mountain Time.
You can follow @usashooting on Periscope now-and while you're online go buy some of their gear today- you'll get 10.9 percent off as well - and support USA Shooting.

GUN FREE - NOPE
Places that advertise “gun free” and don’t have clear signs of surveillance are at heavy risk. Most of the mass shootings and active shooters that make the news attack vulnerable or soft targets. The easiest way to plan for an active shooter is to make your location difficult to hit. That doesn’t mean you need to sandbag the walls and get a gunner up in the turret of your Humvee. It just means making it visually clear that if someone decides to commit violence – he or she will be met with fierce resistance.
