Women using VP Joe Biden's Advice on using a Shotgun as a defense.

A parody video showing women taking Joe Biden’s “buy a shotgun!” advice illustrates the difference between shooting a shotgun and an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle.

“Ban This Song” parody video goes viral.

The Ballard Brothers YouTube video pokes fun at all the uncertain logic behind governmental regulation. The video pays particular attention to the idea of a gun ban. Pretty much nothing created by the government in the name of societal protection goes untouched in the parody video.

Dan Bongino lost his race for the U.S. Senate last Fall and the former Secret Service agent was finally closing up shop on his campaign offices when his phone started ringing like crazy. Television and radio shows were calling to ask Dan if he was free… free to talk about this brief speech he gave on January 19th at a Guns Across America rally in Annapolis Maryland.

New Video Destroys Myth About Large Capacity Magazines

Read more at Ammoland.com: http://www.ammoland.com/2013/02/new-video-destroys-myth-about-large-capacity-magazines/#ixzz2M8YCdR5A

A new video obtained by the Citizens Committee for the Right to keep and Bear Arms destroys the myth surrounding so-called “high capacity magazines” by proving that determined shooters using smaller capacity magazines can fire just as fast, and in some cases even faster despite having to reload.
The startling video demonstration, conducted under the supervision of Boone County, Ind. Sheriff Ken Campbell and funded by ArmaLite, “throws cold water on anti-gunners who argue that magazine limitations are necessary to prevent mass shootings,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan M. Gottlieb. “We are all indebted to ArmaLite for this informative effort.”
“Under Sheriff Campbell’s supervision,” he explained, “two shooters – an experienced man and a novice female – are able to repeatedly fire 30-round shot strings at three targets, using 15-, ten- and six-round magazines, all in under 30 seconds.”

The Ever-Classy MagPul

from: http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-ever-classy-magpul.html

MagPul moves Colorado residents to the front of the line...why? Because it's the classy thing to do. From their Facebook page:

We are proud to announce that within a matter of days we will be going live with a new program. Due to a bill currently moving through the Colorado legislature, there is the possibility that Colorado residents' ability to purchase standard capacity magazines will soon be infringed. Before that happens, and Magpul is forced to leave the state in order to keep to our principles, we will be doing our best to get standard capacity PMAGs into the hands of any Colorado resident that wants them.

Verified Colorado residents will be able to purchase up to ten (10) standard capacity AR/M4 magazines directly from Magpul, and will be given immediate flat-rate $5 shipping, bypassing our current order queue.

Our customers outside of Colorado, please know that our PMAG production will continue at an ever-increasing rate until we do relocate, shipments to our distributors in other states will continue, and that we do not expect relocation to significantly impact PMAG production. We are also aware that

Colorado is not the only state with existing or pending magazine capacity restrictions; we are working on programs for other affected states as well.Full details and instructions will be announced when we are able to go live; please watch here for the coming announcement.

Thank you, MagPul! One of the most telling moments at the Colorado House Judiciary Committee hearings was when the Committee Dems, including the sad, now-devalued Joe Salazar, were falling all over themselves to cut MagPul a deal and for the life of them couldn't understand why MagPul refused it. It says a lot about a group of men and women that they are incapable of even recognizing the concept of honor when they see it.

5 Steps to Take to Support Second Amendment Gun Rights

5 Steps to Take to Support Second Amendment Gun Rights

by Col (Dr) Benjamin Findley

from: http://www.usacarry.com/5-steps-support-second-amendment-gun-rights/

The simple fact is that gun control laws don’t stop the criminal bad guys or gals from getting or using guns,

GUN OWNERSHIP IS AN INDIVIDUAL RIGHT GUARANTEED BY THE 2ND AMENDMENT TO THE US CONSTITUTION

Patriotic citizens should NEVER surrender their gun ownership rights nor our Second Amendment freedom.

Some say if magazine capacity restrictions or a ban had been in effect, many mass-shooting victims would be alive today. There seems to be a complete absence of any evidence to support that. Magazines are tools available to good AND bad people. For example, Virginia Tech shooter Seung-Hui Cho was reported to have carried one hundred magazines and most active criminal shooters carry multiple firearms, making magazine capacity moot.

The ruthless Hitler believed that to conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens. He imposed strict gun registration requirements that enabled him to identify gun owners and then to confiscate all guns by house to house inspections, effectively disarming his opponents and paving the way for the genocide of the Jewish population.

TAKE ACTION  TODAY & DO 5 THINGS.

1 - CONTACT YOUR Federal-State-Local GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES immediately to voice your support for our U.S. Constitution’s 2nd Amendment and if applicable the State of Florida Constitution’s Article One, Section 8 Gun Rights and to emphasize STRICTER enforcement of the many EXISTING gun LAWS we already have, rather than pass NEW more restrictive gun and ammunition laws;    Our focus should be on real solutions to the problem of misuse of firearms, such as strengthening Mental Health Care and improving the Quality of Data supporting the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). And we should encourage quicker & stricter prosecution of criminals who commit violence and misuse firearms.
2 - GET INVOLVED BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE AND JOIN THE NRA to show your support for our Second Amendment Gun Rights. The NRA is the largest and most active firearms rights organization in the world, with over four million members who represent 100 million law-abiding Americans who own firearms. They lobby to influence governments and stand up for our Second Amendment Rights and Freedoms. Contact me soon at 850-484-3221 or by email at Colbff@gmail.com to JOIN or RENEW and get the 29% Special Discount on memberships. I’ll take a credit card by phone.
3 - TAKE A FUNDAMENTALS OF FIREARMS SHOOTING & SAFETY TRAINING CLASS to learn the proper BASICS of grip, sight alignment, trigger control, handling malfunctions, and accuracy techniques, from a certified & well-qualified Firearms Instructor. (I offer both NRA and NON-NRA fundamentals of shooting & safety courses);
4 - SELECT & PURCHASE THE PROPER GUN for self-defense and your needs; and
5 - GO SHOOTING FOR FUN AND SAFELY P-R-A-C-T-I-C-E YOUR SELF-DEFENSE SKILLS and become Proficient at safely using your gun– Join a local GUN CLUB to Practice.
SUCCESS and “Always Shoot Straight.”

Maybe the Best Article on ARs I've Ever Read...
...from WIRED Magazine, no less!

from: http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2013/02/maybe-best-article-on-ars-i-ever-read.html

Now that the post-Newtown nation has suddenly woken up to the breakout popularity of the AR-15, a host of questions are being asked, especially about who is buying these rifles, and why. Why would normal, law-abiding Americans want to own a deadly weapon that was clearly designed for military use? Why are existing AR-15 owners buying as many of these rifles as they can get their hands on? Are these people Doomsday preppers? Militia types, arming for a second American Civil War? Or are they young military fantasists whose minds have been warped by way too much Call of Duty?

Preppers, militia types, and SEAL Team 6 wannabes are certainly represented in the AR-15′s customer base. But fringe groups don’t adequately explain the roughly 5 million “black rifles” (as fans of the gun tend to call it) that are now in the hands of the public. No, the real secret to the AR-15′s incredible success is that this rifle is the “personal computer” of the gun world.

In the past two decades, the AR-15 has evolved into an open, modular gun platform that’s infinitely hackable and accessorizable. With only a few simple tools and no gunsmithing expertise, an AR-15 can be heavily modified, or even assembled from scratch, from widely available parts to suit the fancy and fantasy of each individual user. In this respect, the AR-15 is the world’s first “maker” gun, and this is why its appeal extends well beyond the military enthusiasts that many anti-gun types presume make up its core demographic.

The Gun as Gadget

Gun Salesman of the Decade

All of the AR-15 and accessory makers I talked to told me that their business had grown steadily from about 2000 until 2008, at which point it went supernova. But not even the 2008 panic can compare to the post-Newtown frenzy, in which some gunmakers claimed that their orders went up by 1,000 percent.

In bringing new, non-”tactical” shooters to the AR, the twin panics of 2008 and 2012 have also done much to heal the aforementioned schism between the black rifle and hunting crowds. For every hunter like Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), who shares the NRA old guard’s hostility for all things tactical, there’s another who hates the idea of the government banning the black rifle even more than they dislike the gun itself. Some of these hunters have gone out and bought an AR-15, and when they shoot their new toy, they’re most likely hooked for life.

Where Has All The Ammo Gone?

Where Has All The Ammo Gone?

from: http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/8797

by Gary Evans

I've often said that there is no such thing as bringing too much ammunition to a gun fight. These days you might be lucky to have any ammo for that gunfight. It seems that it is virtually impossible to find some of the most popular calibers on dealers' shelves these days. I went out the other day in search of 9mm Luger ammo — I need about 400 more rounds for an upcoming class I will be taking this coming Spring. Yet it seems there is none to be had. Where one of my local gun shops used to have pallets consisting of thousands of rounds of 9mm ammo, now they are lucky to have just a few boxes, if that. One of the gun shops in my area will only sell you 9mm ammunition if you are also buying a handgun chambered for it at the same time, and then they limit you to just two boxes. Most other dealers have also instituted a "two box limit" when they do have ammunition in stock.

My informal survey of four local gun stores — including a Gander Mountain store — showed that 9mm and bulk .22 Long Rifle ammunition have virtually disappeared from their shelves. I also noted a lack of .223/5.56 and .308 caliber rifle ammunition. Stocks of .380 ACP and .45 ACP are down considerably. Just about any common semi-automatic pistol caliber ammunition, except surprisingly .40 S&W, are rare finds indeed, at least where I looked. Ammunition for use in revolvers appears to still be available. When you can find ammunition, it has gone up considerably in price unless it is one of the less common calibers. For instance, .45 ACP seems to now be going for $0.50 to $1.00 per round. I was able to get some .38 Super +P for just a couple bucks more than I was paying before this latest ammo shortage began.

Even reloading components are in short supply. Once again, primers seem to have disappeared. Stocks of bullets are also down considerably. Gun powder is still available, but cartridge cases in the popular calibers are getting hard to find.

So what has caused this dramatic decline in the availability of ammunition?

The truth on background checks

by John Lott
http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/8789

Gun control "deserves a vote," President Obama said time and again in his State of the Union speech on Tuesday. Sadly, the measure Congress is most likely to pass — beefed-up background checks — may cause more harm than good.

First, checks obviously won't do anything about gun crime in cities like Chicago or New York, which revolves almost exclusively around illegal guns.

But they also wouldn't stop the mass killings Obama mentioned. The Newtown, Conn., shooter stole his mother's guns, while the Tucson, Ariz., and other killers didn't have records that a check would've spotted.

John Lott is a former chief economist at the United States Sentencing Commission; his new book, "At the Brink," is due out this week

Will Sen. Tom Coburn Agree with Schumer's Ban on Private Sales?

from: http://www.thetacticalwire.com/story/281149

Anti-gun Sen. Charles Schumer's staff is leaking out to the press the Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn is "on the verge" of caving in and agreeing to a ban on private gun sales -- and requiring virtually every American to get the government's approval before exercising their constitutional right to become a gun owner.

According to The Washington Post (2/23/13), the remaining sticking point is Coburn's reluctance to require a 4473 for every private transaction. Were this to occur, ATF's practice of going into gun stores and copying all the 4473's -- a practice which has been documented by GOA -- would soon produce a national gun registry.

Schumer's people have also let it be known that they may have Susan Collins (R-ME), John McCain (R-AZ), and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) in the bag. (Note to gun owners in these states: These Senators really need to hear from you!)

Hoppe’s has introduced a new synthetic blend of its No. 9

Hoppe’s has introduced a new synthetic blend of its No. 9 and it still has that scent so beloved by generations of gun owners.

Hoppe’s No. 9 Synthetic Blend is made in the United States and MSRP for 2-ounce bottles is $4.95. That’s a little more expensive than the original. If you go through a lot, 1-gallon jugs of the new version will cost you a C-note. If you order the new formula it can be shipped by air, which is not the case with the classic version.

Great support from Midway USA

Dear Valued Customer,
In the spring of ‘77, I left the Air Force and moved to Columbia, MO to pursue my dream of running a gun shop. You see, I’d always loved the outdoors; especially shooting and hunting. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve shooting and hunting with my dad and brothers. Then, as an adult, some of my greatest joys have come while shooting and hunting with my wife, my kids, my friends and now my grandkids. I love this industry, I love our way of life and I love serving Customers.
Now, our way of life is being challenged like never before and our Customers are responding with a flood of orders. In the 35 years I’ve been in business, I’ve never seen anything like this.
We’re monitoring the political environment, our industry’s capabilities and our business on a daily basis and making policy and process changes to better serve Customers. But please understand, while we’re still able to get most orders out the same day they’re placed, you may experience longer than normal wait times on the phone or when you chat with us on the web. Also, it’s taking us a few extra days to respond to emails. Finally, we’re out of a bunch of products I know you want which breaks my heart. And when we do get them in, they rarely spend the night in the building because they’re ordered almost immediately. We’re tirelessly working to get products in the door and out to Customers as fast as we can. But, until supply catches up with demand, we’re having to limit quantities and backorders on certain products.
One thing we haven’t done is change our prices because of this surge in demand. Prices do change from time to time as they always have, but we’d never change prices because of something like this. Our pricing strategy is one of the reasons we’ve put quantity limits on certain products. We’ve all seen certain products selling two or three times higher than normal, and MidwayUSA doesn’t want to enable that type of activity. Also, we want to serve as many Customers as possible when we receive high-demand products. If it’s any consolation, none of our Employees can order products with quantity limits (myself included). We’ve all agreed to put Customers first. And that’s the way it’ll always be at MidwayUSA.
As always, everything we do is intended to be in the best interest of our Customers and we’re eternally grateful for your patience and loyalty.
Thanks for Your Business!

A provider of “realistic” shooting targets to the Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies has created a line of “non-traditional threat” targets that include pregnant women, mothers in playgrounds and elderly American gun owners.

Law Enforcement Targets, Inc. is a 21-year designer and full service provider of training targets for the DHS, the Justice Department and thousands of law enforcement agencies throughout the country.

The targets include “pregnant woman threat,” “older man with shotgun,” “older man in home with shotgun,” “older woman with gun,” “young school aged girl,” “young mother on playground,” and “little boy with real gun.”

Why are top training target suppliers for the government supplying the likes of the DHS with “non-traditional threat” targets of children, pregnant women, mothers in playgrounds, and elderly American gun owners unless there is a demand for such items?

This is particularly alarming given the fact that the Department of Homeland Security has purchased roughly 2 billion rounds of ammunition over the course of the last year, enough to wage a near 30 year war.

SCHOOL SHOOTINGS – WHAT ARE WE DOING TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN?

SCHOOL SHOOTINGS – WHAT ARE WE DOING TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN?

from: http://www.actiontarget.com/school-shootings-what-are-we-doing-to-protect-our-children/

The Sandy Hook school shooting shocked the very psyche of this nation. I was numbed by its impact, and as a father of two grade school children, it was heart breaking to even imagine what those parents had to endure in the loss of their children.
As the nation mourned, my feelings quickly turned to anger as I began to analyze the incident. I began to visualize as an Immediate Action / Rapid Deployment (IARD) trainer what possible law enforcement (LE) response solutions could have resolved this situation without loss of life. My conclusion was – none.

Here are some common traits in many of these incidents:
The shooters were aware that teachers and faculty were unarmed. (In some instances, “Gun Free Zone” signs were posted outside the school.)
The shooters were aware of the “lock down” procedure and knew that children would not be evacuated or removed from the scene, but instead, would be herded into classrooms behind locked doors.

ADVANTAGES OF USING ARMED TEACHERS AND FACULTY:

There is no need to hire extra personnel, but instead use existing school personnel with more responsibilities.
There is no need to seek funding or create new budgets, but instead rely on the use of school personnel already on salary.
School districts can rely on select teachers and sports coaches to provide coverage during and after school activities, sports events (home and away games), and field trips.
Having more than one armed teacher in a school (possibly two or three at a time) will allow for coordinated first responder engagements of active shooters.
Allows for use of school personnel that have extensive knowledge of the facility they work in and have a better chance of controlling and dominating terrain.
CONCLUSION

Armed teachers may not be the answer to every scenario, but having the advantage of trained school personnel on-site and ready to take immediate action is the true definition of first responder!
Ultimately, it’s not a question of “if” another school shooting is going to happen, but when and where? Will we be ready?

Nikon Unveils New Laser Rangefinder

from: http://www.thetacticalwire.com/story/280817

As today's bowhunters and riflehunters continue to define new standards of accuracy, Nikon is engineering new optical technology with a focus on cutting-edge precision and consistency. The latest development to embody this new standard is the PROSTAFF 7 Laser Rangefinder. This new rangefinder is the perfect companion for any hunter, especially for those who use Nikon's BDC reticles with Spot On™ Ballistic Match Technology.

The PROSTAFF 7 Rangefinder displays ranges in .1-yard increments with a true 600-yard ranging capability. Users can choose whether distances are displayed in yards or meters. Readings are shown in an uncluttered view with an improved LCD display with LED illumination that allows selection of the mode that contrasts best against subject and background. The 6x21 magnification and large ocular lens ensure that users are getting a large sight picture with optimal resolution.

Nikon's advanced ID (Incline/Decline) Technology compensates for various incline or decline shooting angles - up to an incredible +/-89 degrees. The PROSTAFF 7 also has Tru-Target Technology, which lets users choose between two different ranging modes. In first target priority mode, users can target an object as small as a fence post and get a precise reading. In distant target priority mode, the rangefinder displays the distance of the farthest target among a group of targets measured.

The PROSTAFF 7 is ultra-compact in size and can be easily operated with one hand. Its single button operation makes it easy to use and it automatically powers down after eight seconds to conserve battery life. The rangefinder is powered by a single CR2 lithium battery and is both waterproof and fogproof. The MSRP for the PROSTAFF 7 Laser Rangefinder is $299.95.

Hoppe's Introduces No. 9 Synthetic Blend Bore Cleaner

from: http://www.thetacticalwire.com/story/280816

Hoppe's, the industry leader in gun care cleaning products and accessories since 1903, has introduced a new cleaning solution for high-performance, modern firearms. The new Hoppe's No. 9 Synthetic Blend has the same recognizable scent and cleaning power as the traditional No. 9 formula, but is a non-flammable and biodegradable bore cleaner.

Hoppe's No. 9 Synthetic Blend builds on the tradition established by Frank Hoppe more than 110 years ago when he developed Hoppe's No. 9. Hoppe concocted the unique formula to combat the corrosive qualities of smokeless gun powder, which at the time was being sought after by the firearms industry as a replacement for black powder. While the challenge was different at the turn of the 20th Century, the commitment to innovation at Hoppe's remains the same. Designed for today's modern firearms and ammunition, Hoppe's No. 9 Synthetic Blend is a powerful bore cleaning solution.

The new Hoppe's No. 9 Synthetic Blend maintains the standard set by the original formula while addressing the demands of the modern firearm. The new synthetic blend deeply penetrates the bore for superior removal of carbon, lead and copper fouling. In addition, the bore cleaner is safe on materials used on today's firearms, including anodized aluminum, titanium, steel, chrome, nickel, plastic, polycarbonate, and rubber. By utilizing the cleaning power of Hoppe's No. 9 Synthetic Blend with a Hoppe's Boresnake, gun owners can drastically reduce the amount of time spent cleaning firearms and enjoy more time behind the trigger.

Made in the USA, the new Hoppe's No. 9 Synthetic Blend is available in sizes ranging from 2 oz. to 1 gallon with MSRPs from $4.95 - $99.95.

Biden Says Go Buy a Shotgun Mommy

from: http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/biden-says-go-buy-a-shotgun-mommy-you-cant-aim-an-ar-15/

Watch this video of VP Joe Biden, which is dated February 19th, only a couple days ago, he is still out there hard charging against AR-15s. This time he is giving us all advice for home defense, that we should arm our wives with a double barrel 12 gauge shotgun, "in case there is a problem," and that said wife should shoot both barrels out the back door as a precautionary warning measure, just in case. It is a good thing his wife has never been stalked by someone sitting in his back yard with an AR-15, because after she disarmed herself and endangered her neighbors by foolishly taking Joe's advice, she would have been a sitting duck.

Spike's Tactical: Effective Immediately!!

Updated Policy for State and Local Law Enforcement Agency Sales:

In light of the recent and numerous anti-gun and anti-2nd Amendment laws pending across the Nation, Spike’s Tactical will be joining other manufacturers and distributors and limiting the business we do in states that have limited the right to keep and bear arms for their citizens . . .

As of today, it will be our policy not to sell prohibited items to law enforcement agencies, government agencies and agents in states, counties, cities and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We urge other companies to join in support.

This from DoubleStar: Effective Immediately!!

Due to the recent changes in 2nd Amendment laws that are pending or currently enforced by states across the country, the J&T Family of Companies which includes J&T Distributing, DoubleStar Corp., Ace Limited, and the DoubleStar Training Academy has been forced to reassess our policies regarding government and law enforcement sales.

Effective immediately, the J&T Family of Companies will be joining other manufacturers and distributors by ceasing sales of regulated items in states that have altered the rights of citizens to keep and bear arms . . .

The JTFOC will no longer sell prohibited items to law enforcement agencies or any government agencies in states, counties, cities, and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their law abiding citizens. We hope other companies will join us with their support. We applaud those already involved with this effort to protect our 2nd Amendment rights.

Be Victorious

We received the tragic news that the state of Colorado had gone over to the dark side and embraced the ways of Mordor. For an entire day we have been reading debates and rhetoric. Our good friends at MagPul will be leaving the state and moving to the free state of Nevada. We congratulate them on their choice and we will continue to support them via the sales and endorsement of their products.

Nonetheless, The Suarez Group wanted to...needed to do, something to show solidarity with those stuck behind the lines in Colorado. Although we do not have the resources of larger companies, we want to do something notable.

We will show the socialists in Colorado that their oppressive laws on the people of Colorado are totally irrelevant by flooding the state with High Capacity M4 Assault Rifle Magazines before they close and lock the gates to the New Iron Curtain.

We have sets of ten (10) TSD Combat Systems M4 Magazines. These will only be sold to residents of Colorado at reduced rates, and only shipped to civilian Colorado addresses. We will not sell them to any official agency in the state, nor to any gun stores or dealers. I know many want these magazines, but our beleaguered brothers need these more than we do.

Gun Companies Under Fire: What’s Their Next Move?

from: http://cdn2.cheaperthandirt.com/blog/?p=39528&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=social&utm_content=chronicle&utm_campaign=20120216social-chronicle-gun-companies-under-fire-blog-post&utm_source=EmailDirect.com&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=20130216-Chronicle+Campaign

Firearms makers and gun-accessory manufacturers are certainly facing a hostile Senate and federal administration, but the battles aren’t all on the national stage. Several state governments are also making life difficult for firearms businesses, forcing gun and accessory makers in those states to consider moving their operations to friendlier locations. And some companies are beginning to push back, even if it costs them business. Examples:
In a nearby Shooter’s Log item, “What Would the World be Like Without Magpul and PMAG 30s?“, Dave Dolbee reports that “In their zeal to jump on the anti-gun agenda, lawmakers in Colorado have proposed banning the sale or manufacture of high-capacity magazines. The law would go well beyond Colorado’s borders by banning the manufacture of products to be sold out-of-state.”
In another Shooter’s Log item, “Gun Rights in Your State: The ILA and CRLDF,” CTD Scott points out, “State legislatures have more power than the federal government. Because of the smaller constituency and lobbying efforts, state governments can pass bills into laws with more ease than the U.S. Congress. So, you’re more likely to see restrictions on your gun rights come from your state than the federal government.”

Cheaper Than Dirt Supports Citizens' 2nd Amendment Rights

Recently companies such as LaRue Tactical and Olympic Arms announced they will no longer sell prohibited items to government agencies and personnel in states denying civilians to own those same items. It has been and will continue to be Cheaper Than Dirt's policy not to sell prohibited items to government agencies and agents in states, counties, cities and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We support and encourage other companies that share in this sentiment.

Stand and Fight

Stand and Fight

from: http://dailycaller.com/2013/02/13/stand-and-fight/

It has always been sensible for good citizens to own and carry firearms for lawful protection against violent criminals who prey on decent people.

Magpul to leave Colorado if gun bills pass!

from: http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2013/02/colorado-emergency.html

From MAGPUL:

Due to the highly restrictive language in HB 1224, if passed, and we remained here, this measure would require us to cease PMAG production on July 1, 2013. In short, Magpul would be unable to remain in business as a CO company, and the over 200 jobs for direct employees and nearly 700 jobs at our subcontractors and suppliers would pick up and leave CO.

Due to the structure of our operations, this would be entirely possible, hopefully without significant disruption to production. The legislators drafting these measures do so in spite of the fact that nothing they are proposing will do anything to even marginally improve public safety in CO, and in fact, will leave law-abiding CO residents less able to defend themselves, strip away rights and property from residents who have done nothing wrong, and send nearly 1000 jobs and millions in tax revenue out of the state.

We like CO, we want to continue to operate in CO, but most of all, we want CO to remain FREE.

Winchester Issues Recall for 5.56 Ammo

Winchester Issues Recall for 5.56 Ammo

from: http://www.shootingwire.com/story/279854

Amid a national ammo shortage this is probably the last thing you want to hear. Winchester has issued a recall for some of their 5.56mm centerfire rifle ammo.

The company stated in the recall notice that after an extensive evaluation they found that a single lot of Winchester 5.56mm M855 62 Grain Pene (penetrator) ammunition may contain incorrect propellant, an issue that if used may cause damage to the firearm or render it inoperable, or may cause injury to the shooter or bystanders.

The 5.56mm M855 is an economical brand that features a steel core and a green penetrating tip. Online it typically costs $10.

The company asks that you do not use the 5.56 ammo from boxes marked with the symbol number "ZGQ3308″ and the lot number "WCC10M106-004″. Both identifying numbers are stamped on outside of the 900-round shipping container, and on the outside of the 30-round box.

Winchester asks that if you do have a box of defective ammo to immediately discontinue using it and contact the company to exchange it at no cost to the consumer. You can contact Winchester at  866-423-5224 and they'll arrange for free UPS pick-up. As soon as the company receives the package, a replacement box will be shipped out.

Ruger steps up and keeps "Ruger Rimfire Series" going for 2013

from: http://www.shootingwire.com/story/279865

Below is the official Ruger Firearms announcement regarding the continued management and administration of the Ruger Rimfire Series. Please post as soon as possible.

"As many of you are aware NSSF has decided not to assume control of the Ruger Rimfire program at this time due to new priorities in response to recent events. During a phone call with NSSF and Ruger staffs it was determined that Ruger would continue to oversee the program for the time being. Some Ruger staff previously involved in running the program has been reassigned to duties within the company in this very busy period all manufacturers in our industry are experiencing. NSSF has offered to assist with manpower by providing the services of Tim Norris with whom they have been working in anticipation of the transition of the rimfire program. I will be working closely with Tim to provide continuity for 2013

Ruger will continue to offer product for the prize tables of the sanctioned matches in 2013. I am sure that many of the past sponsors will also continue to be involved and support the rimfire program to the extent they are able.

I do anticipate that matches approved and sanctioned by NSSF for 2013 will go forward as planned. As new applications are received they will be reviewed and acted upon as quickly as possible. Our goal is to keep the program moving and growing with the assistance provided by NSSF and with the intention of transferring the program to them by 2014.

Contact Tim at rimfiresteel@gmail.com or his cell  (661) 510-9379 if you have questions about hosting a Ruger Rimfire match.

SEAL and "American Sniper"

Last weekend's murders of former SEAL and "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield have shaken the special forces community- and the shooting world.

from: http://www.thetacticalwire.com/features/227044

As a community, we are diminished by the loss of both men, but our loss is nothing like the losses to their families. Plenty of people, including our readers, have asked: is there anything we can do to help?

I'm glad to tell you that there is.

The guys at www.tacticaltshirts.com have created a memorial shirt for Chris and Chad and designated the profits from each ($10/per shirt) to a pair of trusts established for the Kyle and Littlefield families.

The Chris Kyle Memorial Trust is being administered by Chris Kirkpatrick, attorney for the Kyle family and Craft International, LLC, the training company Kyle founded.

Flypaper Laws - Interesting Reading

from: http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2013/02/gun-owner-felon.html

The Nathan Haddad case in New York State is a perfect example of what the Obama administration wants for America:
Nathan Haddad, a decorated combat veteran, was arrested earlier this month in New York for possessing unloaded 30-round magazines. Mr. Haddad, who has been recognized by the Army for his selfless acts of generosity to fellow soldiers, was charged with five felony counts of possession of “high-capacity” magazines.

Think about that...technically, he could face up to 35 years in prison, more than twice as much as a murderer.

Now compare this to David Gregory-gate, where the NBC star "journalist" — and I certainly use that word reservedly — clearly possessed a standard capacity AR magazine, illegal to possess in D.C., in front of millions of witnesses and got a free pass. Consider the wording of the D.C. Attorney General's ruling:
OAG has made this determination, despite the clarity of the violation of this important law, because under all of the circumstances here a prosecution would not promote public safety in the District of Columbia nor serve the best interests of the people of the District to whom this office owes its trust.

What do these 2 actions tell us?

Who Is This Secretary of Need?

Between The Berms: Who Is This Secretary of Need?

from: http://www.shootingwire.com/features/227037

I know who the Sec. of State is. I know who the Sec. of Defense nominee is. I know, off the top of my head, most but not all of the other members of the President's Cabinet.

But I am unfamiliar with this Secretary of Need, and frankly I am unsure about the Department of Need he - or she - heads up.

But there most certainly must be one because all I hear on television are officials in the U.S. Government outlining what U.S. citizens don't need.

For instance, I understand that we don't need a "military-style assault rifle". We don't need clips OR magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Or is it 7 rounds? I'm sure they'll let us know the final number of rounds we need.

Convicted rapist organizes gun control demonstration at Dayton gun show; Media fails to note his sex offender status!!!!!!!

WHAT ??????????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

from: http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/8759

This past weekend, a small group of perhaps a dozen protesters gathered outside Dayton's Hara Arena to protest the sale of modern sporting rifles at Bill Goodman's Gun and Knife Show.

From the article:

"We know that guns are being sold on the floor inside Hara Arena illegally" said Jerome McCorry. "No background checks no identification of any kind."

McCorry said "AK-47s and M16s are not gonna be used for hunting, they're not going to be used to protect anybody. These are the weapons that are coming back and being used in mass murders and mass killings."

A simple Google search for Jerome McCorry reveals that the man trying to tell the public what weapons they should be allowed to own is a convicted felon.

From the Attorney General's ICrimeWatch.net:

JEROME NMN McCORRY
Aliases: Jerome Jordan

Offenses
• Description: 2907.02 - Rape
• Date Convicted:
• Conviction State: Ohio
• Date Released:
• Details: (Pre AWA) Sexually Oriented Offender

As can be seen in the WHIO-TV video, Anti-Gun-Protestor Jerome McCorry is wearing a jacket and identified in the on-screen graphic as the President of The Adam Project. The Adam Project's website lists its address as  - the same address as Rapist-and-Convicted-Felon Jerome McCorry.

Not one of the articles by WHIO-TV or The Dayton Daily News mentions McCorry's status as a convicted rapist who is on the sex offender registry.

Hmmmm........Can anyone think of a reason why this man doesn't want law-abiding citizens to have the ability to defend themselves with firearms?

FORMER SEAL, 'AMERICAN SNIPER' CHRIS KYLE KILLED AT TEXAS GUN RANGE

from: http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2013/02/chris-kyle-rip.html

Chris Kyle, former Navy SEAL and author of the New York Times bestseller American Sniper, was one of two victims killed in a shooting at a Texas gun range Saturday.
According to a local news station, police have arrested a suspect in the slayings. The suspect reportedly shot Kyle at point-blank range while he attempted to aid a fellow veteran.
